About Premiership Rugby

Premiership Rugby is the organisation which represents the 12 professional Rugby Union clubs who compete in Aviva Premiership Rugby (the equivalent of football’s Premier League), the Heineken Cup and the Amlin Challenge Cup (rugby union’s two European competitions), and the LV= Cup (an Anglo-Welsh competition). It was created in 1997 shortly after rugby union went professional in England.

This site exists because Premiership Rugby is committed to making a difference in the communities where its clubs operate. All the clubs in Aviva Premiership Rugby are required to operate a community development programme led by qualified, experienced employees, and all Premiership players participate in community schemes as part of their contracts.
